This 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster was acquired by the seller in 1971 and was subsequently repainted its factory shade of Ivory. The car is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is equipped with red leatherette upholstery, a beige canvas soft top, a top boot, 15″ steel wheels, and an adjustable bench seat. This Speedster is now offered with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, repair manuals, a luggage rack, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car came finished from the factory in Ivory (5804) and was repainted following the completion of body work in 1971. Features include a removable beige canvas soft top, a top boot, a driver-side mirror, removable side curtains, and body-color bumpers. Chips, blemishes, and areas of touch-up are viewable in the gallery. The 15″ ventilated steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with Nitto NT-257 tires measuring 185/70. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner. The wheel cylinders and brake master cylinder were replaced in June 2021. The interior has been redone and features an adjustable bench seat trimmed in red leatherette along with beige squareweave carpets. Lap belts have been installed. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a central 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge monitoring oil temperature and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership. The fuel gauge and oil temperature gauge don’t work. The 1.6-liter flat-four was factory rated at 70 horsepower and has been fitted with dual Weber carburetors. The spark plugs were cleaned and the carburetors adjusted in 2022. Engine stamping *67013* is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Porsche CoA. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes that the battery box should be replaced.
