This Guards Red 1983 Porsche 944 project will require engine and electrical services prior to use. It is equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-four, and shifting is handled via a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a sunroof, pop-up headlights, fog lights, power windows, and air conditioning. Purchased out of storage by the current owner in 2025, the car subsequently received a ~$12k service that included overhauling the fuel system, installing a replacement rear spoiler and bumper guards, reupholstering the seats and steering wheel, and replacing the cylinder head, timing belt, spark plugs, water pump, thermostat, tires, and various other components. This 944 project shows 83k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title. The car is finished in Guards Red (LM3A) and features a sunroof, side moldings, a replacement rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, and fog lights. A replacement rear spoiler and bumper guards were fitted in 2026. The right door is believed to have been refinished, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below. The 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels were mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires in 2026. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted ventilated discs. One brake caliper and various brake lines were replaced in 2026. The seating surfaces were covered in beige leather with suede inserts in 2026, and additional work at that time included repairing the power window switches and replacing the rear-view mirror. The car is equipped with air conditioning, and the stereo faceplate is missing. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel was retrimmed in 2026 and frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles. The water-cooled 2.5-liter M44 inline-four features Bosch engine management and was factory rated at 143 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque. A fuel system overhaul consisting of cleaning the fuel tank and replacing the fuel pump, pump relay, injectors, and filter was carried out in 2026. Additional work the same year included replacing the cylinder head, spark plugs, oil cooler, thermostat, water pump, and battery. Electrical issues are noted, along with coolant contamination of the engine oil, which the selling dealer attributes to a failed head gasket. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage from its first entry in November 2000.
